One day I’ve found several boxes of 35mm slides that my parents have shot in between 1979 and 1993. In fact I always knew that they are somewhere there, but as it often happens it took me a while to understand what hidden treasures may be found in such family archives. On these slides I’ve found Cuba and Moscow, Soviet Central Asia and Europe. Some of the places are now very hard to reach and some have completely changed so to my mind these slides found at the “entresol” (almost a mystic place in many apartments in Russia) can be of certain interest.
For those who were born in the digital era here is a short reminder from Wiki: In photography, a reversal film is a type of photographic film that produces a positive image on a transparent base. The film is processed to produce transparencies or diapositives instead of negatives and prints. And a slide is a specially mounted individual transparency intended for projection onto a screen using a slide projector. This allows the photograph to be viewed by a large audience at once.
